Compassionate God, we pray for the many in our Muncie community who experience homelessness as a way of life. We long for a world where everyone has a safe, loving home. Send to them resources for their nutrition, hydration, and shelter, even ours. Open our hearts, our hands, and our churches to them so that they may receive the welcome of Jesus, who walked this earth with no house or home to call his own, Amen.
Friday, March 12 – We pray for those in our community facing food insecurity.
God of abundance, through Christ you revealed a Realm that is comprised of a banquet table, where there is always enough, and all are fed and filled. We pray for the adults and children in our Muncie community who go to bed hungry each night. Raise up within our community such an awareness so as not only to feed the hungry but to end hunger for all, in the name of Christ, who is the Bread of Life and the Living Water. Amen.

God of love, you have graced us with every spiritual blessing. Help us to know that these gifts are ours to give away. We pray that you would grant to us a missional spirit. That is, that we would love the people you love. That we would not hold your gifts tightly in our grasp. But rather, that we would desire to go to the people you love, build relationships with them, and share your love with them. Amen.
Tuesday, March 16, 2021 – We pray for unity of heart and mind.
God of all, we pray for unity of heart and mind. We join in Jesus’ prayer “that [we] may be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you have sent [Jesus] into the world and have loved [us].” (John 17:23) We understand that we will not always agree. But we pray that we be unified in love for you, unified in our desire for your will to be done in us and in our congregations. We pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Expand our vision to understand that in working together we are not leaving the past behind, but that we are building upon our past. Amen.
Thursday, March 19, 2021 – We pray for our local schools.
Jesus, lover of children, we pray for the schools in our community. We are aware, that so many of our children go to school hungry, tired, bearing burdens that no child should have to bear. Give strength to teachers and administrators that they may not only teach well but that they may be instruments of hope and vision. We pray that we may be inspired to partnerships with schools so that we may participate in this ministry of hope. Amen.

Friday, March 26: We pray in remembrance of the sacrifice of Christ.
Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hard wood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name. Amen.
Monday, March 29 – We pray that we observe Holy Week with attentive hearts.
God of all good gifts, we thank you for the gift of your Son. We pray that with everything going on in the world, our nation, our community, our congregation, and our lives, that we would be attentive to the work of your Spirit this Holy Week. As we remember the events that occurred in Jerusalem over 2000 years ago, attune our hearts to your voice so that we may respond as true disciples to your call to us to take up our own crosses and follow Jesus, the Christ. Amen.
Tuesday, March 30 – We pray for the agencies and organizations in our community assisting the underserved.
God of all mercy, we lift up to you those in our community that serve those in need. We pray that you would bring resources to them that will aid them in their work. Bless them with strength and vigor that they may continue to meet what seems to be ever-growing need. We pray also that we may not only pray for these organizations and people but that we would be inspired to come alongside them and work to alleviate need in our community. Amen.
Wednesday, March 31 – We pray for healing of our divisions.
God of peace, we live in a day when our society is rife with division. The spirit of division also plagues your Church and local congregations. We pray that Jesus’ prayer will be fulfilled in us, that we may be one even as you and your Son are one. We understand that we may not agree with one another, but we can still be unified in mission and purpose. We pray this so that your reign may be known through our desire for your will to be done through us. Amen.
Thursday, April 1 – We pray that we may have a servant’s heart.
God of love, today we remember when your Son took up the towel and basin. Jesus, Son of God, washed the feet of his disciples. We pray that we may have such humble and service-oriented hearts. We pray, that our congregations will remember that we are not called to be served but rather to serve. We pray in the name of Jesus, your Son and Servant, Amen.
Friday, April 2 – We repent of our self-centeredness.
Gracious God, we recognize our faces in the crowd delighting in the crucifixion of your Son. Even as Jesus’ closest friends abandoned and denied him, we confess that we would do the same. May it grieve us and bring us to repentance for the ways our self-centeredness causes us to deny you by our actions. Forgive us, we pray. Amen.
