A Heart For Serving
Going to serve the world in the love of Jesus Christ is integral to the vision of College Avenue. We celebrate the many ways our congregation engages in Muncie, Indiana, across the country, and around the world.
This year the mission team will offer at least one opportunity to “do something” each month, such as End Hunger Now, a GO! day of service, Habitat for Humanity builds, and Operation Christmas Child. We hope you will find a way to serve and share that meets your needs and gifts.
Our intention is to have a physical presence in all of the local ministries we support and build relationships. Many of our projects will likely enrich our partnership with our neighborhood school Westview Elementary. Be watching for fun ways to get involved at Westview.
Faith Promise is our annual financial commitment to God’s mission in our community and world. Last year we raised more than $17,000, which was shared between the following ministries:
We also support:
- United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR)
- Crop Walk
- Coats Against the Cold
- Soup Kitchen of Muncie
- Giving Tree
Easter and Thanksgiving offerings this year will be earmarked for these six United Methodist Special Sundays:
Human Relations Day
One Great Hour of Sharing
Native American Ministries Sunday
Peace with Justice Sunday
World Communion Sunday
United Methodist Student Day
