Advent and Christmas Events

A Thrill of Hope

As we hunt for hope in our world today, we’re excited to be exploring Advent and Christmas Scripture through the vibrant artwork of John August Swanson, who allows his Christian faith and passion for social justice to permeate all he creates. We will worship, sing, serve, study, create, and pray as we allow art to open us to the incarnation of Christ in our intergenerational community.

Advent Study: Chapel at 10:00 a.m., Sundays, December 2—December 23

Join us during Advent for a relaxing and reflective time learning how the familiar Advent and Christmas texts from Matthew and Luke are brought to life in the art of John August Swanson. The beauty of the art based on sacred text will enrich you during this Holy Season celebrating Christ’s Birth.

Blessing Jar Advent Activity

During Art in Advent, we will prepare blessing jars to take home and use throughout Advent. As you are mindful of your blessings, you also will rediscover the “thrill of hope.”
