Celebrating New Life!

This Easter season, we celebrate God’s Spirit bringing new life and energy to our ministries. We hope you’ll take a moment to read this quarterly Avenews update in a new format to see some of the stories of how God is at work among us. Whether that be through powerful worship experiences, new Disciple Bible study classes, or intergenerational service opportunities,  like Shepherd’s Camp, we continue to gather, grow, and go to share the love of Jesus. Thank you for your support as we celebrate our ministries together!

Youth Ministries

The youth have been volunteering more during services on Sunday mornings by running Facebook Live, running video in the first service, and helping with communion.

The youth and 3rd-5th graders had a great time volunteering by serving food at Mardi Gras and for Shepherd’s Camp.

We have had interest in some students going to church camp this summer and we are excited to send some of our students to learn more about Jesus and grow deeper in our faith!

Campus Mentoring Ministry

Campus Mentoring Ministry made Valentine’s Day cards to send to individuals at Westminister Village.

We finished our 5-step series on how to follow God’s will for our lives.

Students engaged in small group mentoring in March.

CMM co-sponsored “Faith at Work,” an event on campus that hosted Christian singer Josh Garrels, who spoke about faith and vocation. Over 200 students attended.

Intergenerational Ministries

Once again, we gathered as a church family to celebrate Mardi Gras, eating sausage and pancakes and listening and dancing to Dixieland jazz music. This intergenerational event continues to be a wonderful time with new and not-so-new brothers and sisters.

On Bible Sunday, our Second graders received Bibles and forty adults committed to a 24-week Disciple Bible study. These lives will be transformed by reading and studying God’s word and then applying it to our daily lives.
