There is a place for you in our annual GO! Saturday mission event! Each year we go into the community to work at several missions to be the hands and feet of Christ. This year we will partner with Habitat for Humanity, A Better Way, The Children’s Clothing Center, and Covenant Partners. The event will be May 13 from 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Sign up by May 7 in the Coffee Bar.
GO! Saturday Schedule & Projects
Everyone is to gather in the Coffee Bar at 8:30 a.m. for a light breakfast, coffee, and blessing. The groups will then disperse to the four sites for projects. Most groups will return to the church for lunch and a brief celebration, and be done for the day around 1 p.m. However, lunch will be delivered to the Habitat crew and another shift will continue work there from 12 to 3 p.m.
The Children’s Clothing Center (920 E Charles St)
Volunteers will sort, box, and organize clothing. Forrest Bowers is coordinating.
Volunteers will scrub tables with a bleach solution, go on a prayer walk in the neighborhood, or paint an outside storage shed (weather permitting).
A Better Way
Volunteers will do yard work (weather permitting), do deep cleaning inside, or paint inside. Outdoor workers should bring gloves and a rake. Sam Clemmons is coordinating.
Habitat for Humanity Build
The location won’t be available until a few days prior, so volunteers need to provide a phone number. The morning shift should be on site by 9 a.m. and the afternoon shift at 12 p.m. Lunch will be delivered on site around noon. Workers may want to bring their own gloves and tools. Tom Adams is coordinating.
Sign up in the coffee bar by May 7.
