“Roll Down, Justice!” Lenten Series and Events

Lent is a season of preparation. In the early church, new followers of Jesus would spend the 40 days in prayer, fasting, study, and preparation for baptism on Easter Sunday.

This year we’re   going to remember our baptisms together, preparing our hearts to walk the Holy Week journey of death and resurrection with Jesus. Our baptismal rituals remind us how we have the freedom and the power to resist evil and injustice in all its forms. This Lent, after a year of too much hatred, division, violence, and humanitarian crises, we will be inspired by our rites of baptism to let justice roll down like waters and to reach out across divides in order to alleviate suffering (Amos 5:24).

Our worship, our music, our prayer, and our study will focus on justice, in hopes that we will be people who do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.

Lenten & Easter Events

Power of Prayer      2:50 p.m.

As we seek to share our faith as a congregation, we’ll be praying each day in Lent at 2:50 p.m. for the 250,000 people in the East District who aren’t connected to a faith community. We hope you’ll join us by setting a reminder on your calendar, phone, or watch to pray.  We also hope you’ll lift up specific people with whom you feel called to share your story.
